Punjab: 100 feared trapped in Jalandhar factory collapse

Punjab, Apr 16: Over 100 are feared trapped under the debris of a blanket factory that collapsed on Sunday night in Focal Point area, Jalandhar, said police.

The rescue operations are underway and at least 40 to 42 people were rescued, while one was critically injured.

According to eyewitnesses, the building collapsed after an explosion in the boiler.

Reports reveal that at least 250-300 people were inside the building when the incident occurred.

Police officers and District Magistrate rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation after being alerted.
