Not Petrol but Amul milk prices to be hiked by Rs 2/litre

New Delhi, Apr 16: When the Delhites were expecting a hike in the prices of petrol in the national capital, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation gave them another shock with the news that not petrol but Amul milk prices would be hiked in Delhi and in National Capital Region (NCR) region.

RS Sodhi, the managing director of the federation said, "Amul Taaza (toned) milk will cost Rs 30 per litre from tomorrow in Delhi and NCR compared to Rs 29 per litre, while slim and trim shall cost Rs 26 per litre in place of Rs 25, and Amul Gold (full cream) will be Rs 40 per litre against Rs 38 per litre."

Delhi and NCR region will see the hike from Monday, Apr 16 as the federation's decision will come into effect from Monday.

Earlier there were reports saying that petrol prices might see a hike of Rs 8 per litre.

Reports reveal that RS Butola, Indian Oil Corporation Chairman has asked for a hike by Rs 8 in petrol prices.

According to the IOC, oil manufacturing companies are losing Rs 50 crore on petrol everyday.

The last petrol hike was on Dec 11, 2011.
