Afghanistan: Multiple attacks in Kabul, foreigners targeted?

Kabul, Apr 15: Gunmen launched multiple attacks in the Afghan capital Kabul on Sunday, Apr 15 following series of explosions that rocked the central part of the city.

The gunmen attacked the heavily guarded central diplomatic area and at the Afghan parliament. It has been reported that Afghan Parliament, US, German and Russian embassies and NATO Headquarters were targeted in the attack.

The first blasts struck the Wazir Akbar Khan, a place nearby Kabul and then houses in and around central Kabul were targeted.

After the blasts, heavy gunfire crackled forcing people on the street to quickly take cover. Taliban militants were firing rockets in different directions, reporters claimed.

At the same time, residents reported a blast near Afghan Parliament.

Meanwhile, Indian embassy is safe, as claimed by MEA (Ministry of External Affairs) sources.
