Bangalore, Apr 14: Post Narayana Murthy era, the revenue of one of the largest IT companies in India - Infosys dropped in the fiscal year 2012-13. Following the news, the IT giant decided to slash its hiring plans by 22 per cent.

According to sources, in the fiscal year 2012-13, the company will hire only 35,000 people which is almost 10,000 less than last fiscal.

The company had recruited 45,000 people during the last fiscal and the number also included 13,000 for its business process outsourcing (BPO) back-office operations subsidiary.

Infosys chief executive SD Shibulal on Friday, Apr 13 said, "We will hire about 35,000 people during the four quarters of this fiscal (2012-13), including 1,200 for our onsite locations across geographies."

Mr Shibulal also claimed, "...attrition rate for our parent company has declined to 14.7 per cent from 17 per cent on annualised basis. Attrition is more in our BPO subsidiary in line with the trend in the industry."
