After toons, WB govt wages war against anti-Mamata content

Mamata Banerjee
Kolkata, Apr 14: Even as the nation is fuming over the arrest of Jadavpur professor for a cartoon on the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the police in the state are now looking into a complaint of campaigning against the Chief Minister on social networking sites.

The complaint was forwarded to the CID on Wednesday. Reports reveal that the police is now tracking IP addresses from where the posts were made.

"This is a complete turnaround from what Mamata would have done had she been in the Opposition. The West Bengal government seems to be suffering from paranoia," said Kabir Suman, Trinamool Congress MP.

Earlier a Jadavpur University professor was arrested on Apr 12 for circulating anti-Mamata cartoons on the internet. He was later granted bail.
