Bangalore: HAL Chopper lifted on to a truck

Karnataka
Bangalore, Apr 13: The state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) chopper, which had made an emergency landing on the roof of an apartment building in Byappanahalli, Bangalore on Thursday, was lifted on to a truck on Friday, Apr 14.

The HAL officials dismantled the chopper and then strapped it to a crane to retrieve it.

According to HAL authorities, both the pilot and trainee on board escaped unhurt.

Schweizer 300C trainer (VT-HAV) helicopter was flown by Air Commodore (Retd) Roj Assey at 2:30 pm and flew for two hours and ten minutes before emergency landing.

"The pilot controlled the helicopter to make an emergency landing on top of the building as there was no open place available in the vicinity, where he could have landed immediately," said HAL officials.
