Aarushi: 'Absconding' Nupur Talwar challenges arrest warrant
Despite several initial contradicting reports, the apex court finally nodded to hear Nupur's argument on Friday. A court in Noida issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against her (Nupur) as she failed to appear in the court during the trial of the murder case.
CBI on Thursday conducted raids in Delhi and Noida to get information regarding the missing parents of Aarushi. Finally, they ended up in the apex court where Mrs Talwar challenged the arrest warrant. However, Mr Rajesh Talwar, Aarushi's father is still missing.
14-year-old Aarushi was brutally killed inside her Noida residence on May, 2008. Initially the needle of suspicion was pointed towards Hemraj, Talwar's servant. But soon Aarushi's parents came under the scanner when Hemraj's body was found on the terrace of the Talwar's residence on the next day.
Earlier in 2011, the Talwars had received a breather from the Supreme Court when it stayed the criminal proceedings against them. They were pronounced guilty by the Allahabad High Court.
Later the CBI, in its closure report, had accused her parents as the sole "killers". The CBI court also pronounced its verdict which pointed fingers towards the Talwars.
