TN: Earthquake hits Chennai for the 2nd time on Apr 11

Earthquake hit Chennai and other parts of India for the first time at around 2 PM on Wednesday. A tsunami warning has been issued to 28 countries including India following the massive earthquake measuring 8.9 on Richter scale hit Sumatra on Wednesday.
According to the tsunami centre's warning, quakes of such a magnitude "have the potential to generate a widespread destructive tsunami that can affect coastlines across the entire Indian Ocean basin". They also said that a wave of 0.2m height is expected.
Tremors were felt across Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Patna, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Cuttack, Bhubaneshwar and several other cities situated on the eastern coast of India.
However, no casualties have been reported so far and people have been asked to move away from the coasts.
