iPad, iPhone forced Chinese teenager to sell kidney

Beijing, Apr 7: A 17-year-old boy sold one of his kidneys to earn money for buying an iPhone and an iPad, while the Chinese authorities have indicted five people for their involvement in illegal organ trading.

According to the Xinhua News Agency, the suspects organised a local hospital, a surgeon and brokers for the transplantation of the teenager's kidney and hence the prosecutors in the city charged the suspects for doing so.

On the basis of a survey, it has been found that over 1.5 million people in China need transplant of Kidneys. But only 10,000 transplants are performed every year, as reported by Xinhua.
