Akhilesh's government to pay Rs 1,000 cr debt to Uttarakhand

Lucknow/Dehradun, Apr 6: The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government owes Rs 1,000 crore to Uttarakhand as pension liabilities. The UP govt is ready to pay back the amount but in installments.

The decision was taken after the meeting with Uttarakhand government in Lucknow on Thursday, Apr 5.

It is also found that the UP government have to return a sizeable amount of land in Uttarakhand, which is still under UP's control.

Many dams in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand, VIP Ghat and Alaknanda hotel in Haridwar are also under UP government's possession.
