Tirupati records Rs 5.73 crore collection in a day

Hyderabad, Apr 2: Tirupati has recorded its highest collection on a single day of Rs 5.73 crores on Sunday, Apr 1.

The rich temple's previous record was Rs 4.2 crore that was collected on Jan 1, 2012.

According to Temple officials, a donation of Rs 2 crore was offered by a devotee.

Apart from cash offerings, the Hundi also contained silver and gold.
