AP: How did Jagan Mohan Reddy land in assets scam case?

Hyderabad, Apr 2: The richest MP of India - Jagan Mohan Reddy from Andhra Pradesh may face arrest at anytime as the investigation agency - Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in its chargesheet named him as one of the main accused in the disappropriate assets case.

Jagan, who is overruling any threat of arrest continues his Odarpu Yatra (Consoling Yatra) on Monday, Apr 2, claimed that he has become a scapegoat of dirty politics which indirectly hit at the Congress. Meanwhile, Congress also hit back at Jagan saying he (Jagan) has been facing all these troubles for his over-ambitious plans and power-greedy nature.

The CBI has filed chargesheet against Jagan and 12 others in the disproportionate assets case. Defending himself, Jagan said "I am being made a scapegoat just because my father is no longer alive...You are actually trying to malign someone who is no longer alive...This is dirty politics," Jagan slammed the major political party Congress and asked the authority that why CBI has not named any Congress leader in the chargesheet.

The investigative agency may file more charge-sheets against Kadapa MP and reports reveal that all the chargesheets will include Jagan's name and will be filed regarding investments.

Jagan had started his business venture by bagging a contract of Rs 25 crore for mini-hydroelectric projects in Andhra Pradesh, Karimnagar, Karnataka and Shimoga. According to the media reports, Jagan's wealth has drastically increased once his father YSR Reddy became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. In 2009, he declared assets worth Rs 77.40 crore.

In 2011, CBI found Jagan's Lotus Pond residence on 5,807 square yards of land in Hyderabad worth Rs 85 crore. It has been found that Jagan has bagged movable assets of Rs 50 crore and an immovable assets worth Rs 22 crore.
