Now Lalu Prasad Yadav comes forward in support of Telangana

New Delhi, Mar 30: Extending his support to the Telangana row, RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Friday demanded the Centre take necessary step to form a separate state at the earliest.

"When Bihar was divided there was an opinion that small states are good for development. The people of Telangana, both young and old, men and women are agitating for formation of the state in a democratic manner. Government should not delay any further the formation of Telangana," he said.

A protest was staged at the main entrance of Parliament by eight Congress members from Andhra Pradesh's Telangana region to press on their demand for a new state.

"Honour your commitment. Give separate state of Telangana" and raised slogans "Form Telangana, save democracy", "Respect Telangana, form Telangana," read the placards held by the Congress members.

Meanwhile, an autorickshaw driver immolated himself on Mar 26 in a bid to show his support to the Telangana cause.

Eyewitness reveal that Rajamouli, an auto-driver poured Kerosene over himself shouting slogans like 'Jai Telangana'. He later succumed to his injuries. The investigations are on in this matter.
