Is Anna Hazare and his cause losing its charm?
"The Team’s members like Prashant Bhushan faced public ire, Arvind Kejriwal was greeted with slippers, Kiran Bedi’s corrupt activities tumbled out, Swami Agnivesh was out of the Team when the agitation was at a peak, India Against Corruption’s Mumbai head is embroiled in questionable activities," Thackeray said in the party mouthpiece Saamna.
He further said that the media which highlighted Anna's every move, barely cared for his campaign at the Jantar Mantar on Mar 25.
Talking about his campaign during elections in five states, he said, "but he remained in and out of hospitals."
He also said that the anti-corruption crusader and his Team campaigned in some parts, but they supported BJP's then Chief Minister BC Khanduri.
He said that Samajwadi Party exposed Team Anna's scams in Uttar Pradesh and the party saw victory in the state after winning people's heart.
"It was widely expected that Team Anna would take lessons from these, but that did not happen. Last Sunday, when Hazare revived his agitation, it elicited only lukewarm response in New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar," he said.
Thackeray lambasted on Team Anna members who invited criticism of the Lok Sabha following their comments on calling MPs rapists.
