24 crore for CCTVs in courts

The fund has been sanctioned after a review of security in the courts of the national Capital in the wake of two terror attacks in the Delhi High Court last year that had claimed nearly 20 lives. Absence of CCTV cameras had hampered investigations into the case.
The courts where nearly 300 CCTV cameras would be installed are Patiala House, Tis Hazari, Saket, Dwarka, Rohini and Karkardoma. Absence of CCTV cameras in Delhi High Court had hampered investigations into the probe of May 25 and Sep 7, 2011, blasts and many officials in the Home Ministry felt that proper surveillance could have avoided the attacks.
