WB:Poonam Pandey image shocks Mamata Banerjee, probe ordered
"There is a deliberate attempt, a conspiracy, to spread communal disharmony in the state. A picture which was earlier published in an English daily has now been morphed to hurt religious sentiments and to spread communal disharmony. The state and city police as well as the CID are investigating," said Mamata Banerjee.
Speaking about the move taken by her government, the Trinamool Congress leader also claimed, "We will surely catch those who are behind this conspiracy. The people of Bengal will neither tolerate any attempt to disturb communal harmony."
"The conspiracy is a clear indication of their political bankruptcy. They have become desperate and resorting to all means to create trouble," said Didi while accusing the opposition parties.
People in Kolkata claimed that the image of model Poonam Pandey hurt religious sentiment of the people and thus they showed protest after blocking the road from Park Circus crossing to Bridge No 4 on Thursday which caused a massive traffic jam. Agitators also showed protest in other parts of city. However, later police succeeded to control the situation. [Poonam Pandey's exclusive interview with OneIndia]
