Andhra Pradesh:Liquor scam burns CM, Cong chief, Chandrababu

Hyderabad, Mar 23: Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday, Mar 23 sent legal notices to Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, state Congress chief B Satyanarayana, Excise Minister M Venkatramanaand opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu over liquor scam.

Following a Public Interest Litigation (PIL), the high court sent the notice to the ministers and leaders which may prove as a major setback for Kiran Kumar government's government in the state.

The PIL sought a court-monitored probe into the liquor scam and the court set Apr 16 as hearing date. According to police, state police and ministers allegedly take bribe and sometime offer money upto Rs 2 crore as loan to wine shop owners to continue their illegal liquor trade.
