Car bomb blast shakes Kashmir, kills 1 & wounds 16 people

Srinagar, Mar 22: One person was killed and at least 16 people were injured in a car blast at Bijbehara in south Kashmir on Thursday, Mar 22, said reports.

Reports said that a bomb planted inside a parked Maruti car went off in Bijbehara town, 49 km from Srinagar, on Mar 22 afternoon. The car's driver died on the spot and 16 people passing by on the road were wounded.

The injured included one CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) trooper and 15 civilians, were being evacuated to various hospitals.

Meanwhile, police has launched a massive search operation to get some clues with connection to the blast. However, no separatist guerrilla group has so far owned responsibility for the blast.
