'Dikshit's photo on Delhi EC website is model code violation'

In a letter to State Election Commissioner Rakesh Mehta, she said, "if the Election Commission itself commits the violation of the Code of Conduct, then how can it expect political parties and its candidates to follow the Model Code of Conduct."
Abbi said, "The State Election Commission is an independent body and when anybody opens its website for any information, the photograph of the Chief Minister leads to an obvious conclusion which I feel is the violation of the Model Code of Conduct as MCD elections are on an anvil".
She urged Mehta to look into the matter immediately and get it redressed. Earlier, Congress councillors had approached the Commission against the BJP-ruled MCD's decision to clear proposals like sanctioning pensions after the model of code of conduct came into effect on Mar 5.
