UP: Jaya Bachchan to re-enter Rajya Sabha on SP ticket

New Delhi, Mar 16: Bollywood star Jaya Bachchan is likely to file nomination for the Rajya Sabha on Friday, Mar 16. The actor is expected to be joined by the Samajwadi Party leaders Naresh Agarwal, Brij Bhushan Tiwari and Munawar Salim.

It has been expected that over 58 seats are set to fall vacant in Rajya Sabha on Apr 2.

Uttar Pradesh is entitled to send 10 members from the state on the basis of the strenght of the state assembly, while Samajwadi Party (SP) will have a quota of 6 out of 10 member limit set for the state.

On Thursday, Mar 15, Supremo Mulayam Singh's son Akhilesh Yadav was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
