Sonia Gandhi
New Delhi, Mar 16: Congress President Sonia Gandhi sent a letter to Samajwadi Supremo Mulayam Singh thanking him for inviting the Congress members to attend the swearing-in ceremony of CM-designate Akhilesh Yadav. Sonia's gesture has hinted that Congress is desperate to seek support from SP, the party has grabbed the majority with 222 seats in the state.

It has been found that Congress was not scared when Trinamool chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's withdraw her support, UPA is expecting the support of the present ruling party in UP.

If Trinamool withdraw its support consisting of 19 members then the UPA's strenght will drop from 274 to 255, but if the party gets support from SP consisting of 22 members and BSP 21 members, then it will strengthen Congress power in the Centre.

Meanwhile, the party wants president of their choice and is ready to make all crucial compromises to gain the crucial figure for the presidential poll.
