Will Parliament vote in favor of govt on NCTC?

Parliament
New Delhi, Mar 15: The Parliament, on Thursday, Mar 15 will vote on the proposal to set up a National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC).

The vote on NCTC comes in the backdrop of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) amendment to the President's address on Mar 12 seeking deletion of the reference to the contentious anti-terror intelligence hub.

Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has been continuously opposing the creation of National Counter Terror Centre (NCTC), saying body will impinge up on the rights of the states.

The objection over the formation of NCTC is still high as non-Congress ruled states has demanded the Centre not to create anti-terror intelligence body as it could reduce the role of police forces in countering terrorism.

Earlier, the setting up of the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) had postponed by Home Ministry as all the non-congress states chief ministers had objected the government move to set up the anti-terror intelligence body.
