Lokpal Bill: Anna Hazare to fast on Sunday at Jantar Mantar

New Delhi, Mar 13: Social activist and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare will fast for a day at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Sunday, Mar 18 in support of strong and clean Lokpal bill.

The Lokpal bill, which could not be passed in the Rajya Sabha during the Winter session of the parliament last year due to the minority issue, was passed in Lok Sabha.

The Rajya Sabha had witnessed a mid-night drama on last day of winter session after the expiry of the extended time period of the Winter session that there was no time left for voting and passage of the Lokpal Bill.

The 74-year-old Gandhian has been struggling in support of strong anti-graft bill since last year.

Moreover, the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has moved motion for suspension of Question Hour in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, Mar 13 for discussion on Lokpal Bill. But the Rajya Sabha has failed to transact any business as DMK and AIADMK members disrupted both sessions over Sri Lanka Tamil issue.
