Tamil Nadu: Revenue officer caught red-handed taking bribe

Chennai, Mar 7: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday, Mar 7 arrested a senior Additional Director General of Revenue Intelligence officer in Chennai for allegedly receiving Rs 2 lakh bribe and an iPad.

Sources said that the senior official, C Rajan was caught red-handed by CBI while taking the first installment of Rs 2 lakhs in a deal of Rs 8 lakhs from a businessman to defreeze his account and not book him under Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities.

Meanwhile, the CBI also arrested another person in connection with the case, who reportedly carried the money to the revenue official.
