Chennai: No LPG for weeks if strike continues

Currently, all LPG distribution units in the city have been running out of stock due to the ongoing strike by LPG tanker owners demanding fresh transportation contract and induction of new 500 bullet tankers by oil companies.
Meanwhile, if the strike continues for too long, there would be a massive crisis.
Sources also said that consumers may have to wait for 40 days to get a refill if talks between Southern Region Bulk LPG Transport Owners Association and oil companies fail further. The discussion is scheduled to be held on Mar 7 evening.
