Congress not happy with its performance in UP & Punjab

New Delhi, Mar 6: Reacting to five states' Assembly elections results, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Rajiv Shukla on Tuesday, Mar 6 said that congress was not happy with its performance in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.

"We are not happy with the results. It is not on expected lines but it is not a dismal performance either. We have done better than the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)," Shukla told NDTV.

Shukla further said that party had expected around 70-80 seats in the crucial state of Uttar Pradesh. [Read more on UP assembly election 2012]

However, the senior Congress leader did not rule out a possible alliance with the Samajwadi Party saying the decision would be taken by the Congress high command. [Read more on Punjab assembly election 2012]
