UP Polls: Cong comes to rescue of Rahul in case of failure

New Delhi, Mar 5: Congress chief of Uttar Pradesh, Rita Bahuguna Joshi, came in rescue of AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Monday, saying that he shouldn't be blamed if the party failed in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

"Party and candidates are responsible for the results, not Rahul Gandhi," she said.

"Rahul Gandhi was just a campaigner. He wasn't involved in ticket distribution, strategising of elections. Full responsibility is mine if party doesn't do well. I am to be blamed if things don't work out. I will decide whether I should resign or not," Bahuguna said.
