India under threat? Defence minister's office bugged
According to reports, the matter was brought to the notice of Intelligence Bureau (IB) by Defence Secretary Shashikant Sharma.
According to agency reports, the attempts to spy on AK Antony came to light on Feb 16 following which Defence Secretary Shashikant Sharma asked the IB to look into the matter.
In Jun 2011, Pranab Mukherjee, Finance Minister's office was also bugged after atleast 16 identical adhesive like gum sticks were recovered from 16 rooms of the Finance Ministry.
The allegations were however, dismissed by Pranab Mukherjee, who said that it was remains of chewing gum left behind by the cleaning staff.
