Tamil Nadu: Karunanidhi hauls up Jayalalithaa in DA case?

Chennai, March 1: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's former close aide Sasikala, who was ousted along with her family members from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) told the Supreme court that the disproportionate assets case was filed against Jayalalithaa on the behest of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief M Karunanidhi.

On Wednesday, Feb 29 during the hearing, Sasikala said, "The police filed the case exaggerating the value of properties at the instance of Karunanidhi. They did that to please him. They also included the value of an incomplete building."

Meanwhile, Sandesh Chowta, Assistant Special Public Prosecutor objected Sasikala's reading from her notes, Chowta and C Manishankhar, Sasikala’s counsel locked horns on the issue.

The matter was adjourned by the court for further hearing till Thursday.
