Madhya Pradesh:No government pension for couples having boys

Bhopal, Feb 29: In an effort to intensify the 'save girl child campaign' in Madhya Pradesh, the government has decided to provide pension to couples having only a daughter or daughters, but not for those having sons.

Meanwhile, the state government has proposed for the allocation of Rs 3 crore in the state budget for the scheme.

Morover, it is also intended to set up a contributory pension scheme for workers in zilla and janpad panchayats. The government has also decided to increase state government employees' dearness allowance (DA) by bringing them as par with the central government.

The state government has also decided to set up a higher education fund for students of economically weaker sections besides continuing with free cycle distribution and books to economically poor children.
