Tamil Nadu: Karuna's son Stalin to be next DMK chief?

Chennai, Feb 28: Sharing dias with the Youth Wing President of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) - MK Stalin, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi on Monday, Feb 27 cleared that the leadership of the party would remain within the family.

While celebrating the Dravidian Movement, Karunanidhi said that DMK had always been in the forefront to ensure social justice for the Backward people, Dalits and minorities.

"It is true that people of my family, my descendants are very much in politics today, he said. “it is to ensure that even if one Karunanidhi goes, several Karunanidhis will rise to the occasion to fight, to protect the interests of the DMK, the Tamils and of Dravidians as a whole," he said among thundering applause.

While greeting Stalin, Prof K Anbazhagan, DMK general secretary openly announced that the party is indicting Stalin as the successor of Karunanidhi.
