Another bomb blast rocks Guwahati when strike hits India

Assam police chief, Jayant Choudhary has been quoted as saying, "A grenade was thrown from a car and the splinters injured an auto driver and the driver of a private car. We were apprehending an attack by ULFA, but no confirmation yet."
Assam was one among the most affected states which were massively hit by the all India strike (Bharat Bandh) called by 11 major trade unions on Tuesday. However, reports suggest that the strike evoked mix response from people in the state.
Citing the reports of bomb blast, it seems that many people averted death as they were off to roads following the strike. Here it can be mentioned that the unions demanded a universal social security net for all unorganised sector workers through creation of a national social security fund, enforcement of basic labour laws and stringent punitive action against violation of labour laws.
