Bangalore: IT companies put into double shift system

Meanwhile, software service firm Mphasis has already introduced the two-shift system by implementing two timing. The first shift is from 7am to 3pm, and the second from 5pm to 1am.
The report further claims that about 20% of the company's 36,000 staff in India is currently under this system to lower operational costs to improve profitability.
Reacting to the emerging new trend in IT companies, the officials from Wipro said that they will first analyse the system before making a call on it.
According to the report, the IT industry spends an average 64% of its operational cost on people including salary and training, 24% on real estate and transport, and 12% on technology and communication.
Moreover, in double-shift system an employee can choose their timing he wants to work and also change the shift periodically.
