Ex-CM Ajit Jogi likely to be next governor of Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, Feb 27: Former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi is likely to be next governor of Uttar Pradesh.

Sources said that the Congress high command is planning to appoint Jogi as governor of UP in the event of no party or pre-poll alliance garnering a legislative majority in the 403-member state Assembly after the elections.

Earlier, Jogi had offered governorships of Kerala and Jharkhand, but he did not show any interest on the job by sending a strong message to the centre that he is still in active position to play an important role in the state politics.

Moreover, if Jogi have given the governor job of the state, it will also beneficial for Congress party to regain its old image in the state before the crucial 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
