Massive power cut ahead, Jaya to face Tamil Nadu wrath

Chennai, Feb 26: Citing heavy power shortage, sources from electricity department in Tamil Nadu on Saturday, Feb 25 informed that the state likely to suffer due to massive load shedding, especially in Chennai and suburbs areas around the city.

It seems that the Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo may face wrath of aam-aadmi (general people) whose miseries would be increased following the announcement that all industrial and commercial users would experience 40 percent power cut in the coming days.

According to source of Tamil Nadu power utility department, Chennai will face two-hour power cuts while other suburbs will experience four-hour load shedding from Monday, Feb 27 onwards.

Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Ltd (Tangedco)issued an official statement saying, "Load shedding measures will be revised, depending upon the demand and supply gap."

Tangedco, while delivering the statement, mentioned about restrictions for both commercial users and for industries.

The statement issued by Tangedco announced restriction for power usage for commercial consumers between 6-10 pm. All industries will be subjected to one day power holiday in a week from Mar 1 onwards.
