Nelson Mandela 'doing well after surgery'

Johannesburg, Feb 25: According to the latest BBC reports Nelson Mandela is doing well after undergoing a surgery. Frail leader and former president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela, was admitted to hospital on Saturday, for a treatment for "long-standing abdominal pain," the government sources said.

The 93-years-old leader has been facing health issues in recent years. It could be mentioned here that about a year ago, Mandela was admitted and treated for his respiratory problem at Johannesburg's Milpark hospital.

Mandela is still being regarded high in South Africa for his contribution in fighting race discrimination in the nation. Furthermore, the erstwhile anti-apartheid activist was the first black president to a nation till then which was ruled by white minority.

A government official said the former leader was "in good spirits and well".
