Mumbai: Sanjay Dutt's sis Priya likely to become Cong Prez

Mumbai, Feb 24: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt's sister Priya Dutt is likely to become the Mumbai Congress president. Priya Dutt, along with Mumbai Congress chief and MP Gurudas Kamat gained most support for the president's race. However, party high command on Friday, Feb 24 declared that the final decision will be taken after UP polls 2012.

"After polling in UP is over on March 4, senior leaders will take stock of the Mumbai scenario," said a Congress leader who also informed that the party soon would conduct a meeting to discuss the reason behind the party's shameful loss to Shiv Sena in the recent BMC election.

MLA Krishna Hegde, who is well-known as a strong supporter of Dutt, has been quoted as saying, "Priya Dutt is an acceptable face to all communities, she is popular among Maharashtrians, north Indians and other communities."

Priya Dutt's name has been emerged as a latent candidate for Mumbai Congress president post in the wake of the controversy over former president - Kripashankar Singh. Mr Singh was forced to resign over his alleged role in several corruption cases. [Read: FIR against 'Corrupt' Congress President]
