UP Polls: Uma Bharti an 'imported mascot'?

Uttar Pradesh, Feb 22: Digvijay Singh, Congress general secretary lashed out at BJP leader Uma Bharti calling her an an 'outsider' from Madhya Pradesh and said that he felt sorry that she was the party's Chief Ministerial candidate in UP.

He further said that he felt sorry that Kalraj Mishra, Rajnath Singh and Surya Pratap Shahi were not considered for the CMs post. [Read More: UP Assembly Election 2012].

Digvijay said that Uma Bharti too was an outsider campaigning in UP, like he was, as he was called by Baba Ramdev.

He also lashed out at SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for making promises that they would abolish Value Added Tax (VAT) if voted to power adding that these promises were impractical and made earlier also.

He said that he was confident that Congress would come to power in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections.
