After Khurshid; Beni Prasad to justify quota remarks

A showcause notice was issued to Verma by the poll panel seeking his reply on his quota remarks by Monday evening.
On Feb 15, while addressing an election rally in Farrukabad, Beni Prasad had said that reservations for Muslims must be increased. He had said, “Muslims don't have their homes; they don't have jobs and 70 percent of them work as labourers. Non-Congress governments in the state have not done anything for their betterment.”
"We will make sure that quota for them is increased if the Congress comes to power in Uttar Pradesh," he added.
The election Commission watched the video footage of the rally. After Beni challenged the Election Commission, it decided to take action against him.
Union Law minister Salman Khurshid had also come under controversy when he promised 9% Muslim sub-quota if his party won the elections.
