Madhya Pradesh: Journalist, family found murdered

Chandrika Rai (42), his wife Durga Rai (40), son Jalaj (19) and daughter Nisha (14) were found murdered in different rooms in their house on Saturday evening.
Rai worked with the Hitavada and Navbharat as a freelance writer.
The house of the scribe was found locked from outside on Saturday, said police. It was Rai's brother who found out the horrific incident after he smelled something foul and broke open the lock to enter the house, only to find his kin lying in a pool of blood.
According to Ajay Singh, leader of opposition, the journalist was writing about illegal mining in the area and suspected the hand of mafia behind the gruesome act.
He also said that the journalist wrote on the failure of law and order in the state.
