'Z' category security for Thar Express

Jaipur, Feb 17: The North-Western Railway is planning to provide 'Z-category security' to safeguard Thar Express, the weekly train between India and Pakistan, against terror attacks and smuggling of commodities.

Sources from Railways revealed that the Express would be parked inside an iron enclosure at the Bhagat ki Kothi railway station near Jodhpur. Moreover, the highly strong enclosure would be established along the railway track next to platform 1 at the Bhagat ki kothi station by Feb end.

Furthermore, the express will get the same security model assumed for the Indo-Pak Samjhauta Express that runs between Delhi and Lahore.

The Railway officials have also decided to raise the height of the boundary wall facing track 8 where the train is officially parked to secure the train from terrorist and anti-social elements. Railway Protection Force will also be deployed at Bhagat Ki Kothi station to check the day-to-day activities in the station premises.
