Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Election 2012 Results

Mumbai, Feb 17: Crucial poll counting in India's richest civic body - Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has begun on Friday, Feb 17. According to early trade till 11:00 am, BJP and Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP, MNS and others are leading in 63,45,22 and 18 seats out of 153 seats.

Shiv Sena is leading in five seats and MNS in three. The NCP has won in one seat, while BJP and Congress have won in two and one seat respectively in Nashik.

Meanwhile, Pune Mayor Mohan Singh Rajpal has been defeated in his own region. After the result, Rajpal has been quoted as saying, "I accept the verdict of the people. The standing committee used public funds in the election."
