Big relief for Abu Salem in 1993 Mumbai blasts case

Sources said that the court order came in view of Portugal court's order terminating gangster Abu Salem extradition to India.
Moreover, SC has also issued notices to the Central Government and the External Affairs Ministry and sought their responses into the matter in three weeks.
The Portuguese court had recently dismissed the CBI appeal and cancelled the extradition of Salem saying that the investigation agency had violated the extradition treaty between the two countries.
Moreover, the Supreme Court of Portugal also accused the CBI of violating the conditions under which he was permitted to be taken to India in Nov 2005 to face trial in eight cases, including the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.
