Priyanka says people bored of poll promises; want real work

Rae Bareli, Feb 16: A day after Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi tore the list of election promises of political opponents, his sister Priyanka said that people were bored of promises and now want real work.

"People have become bore of promises...everyone knows who all are making hollow promises...people want work. All agree that just promises are made", Priyanka said in response to questions during an informal chat here.

On Rahul tearing the list of election promises of political opponents, she said that she has seen it in newspapers today as has been seen by all others.

"I have not asked what it was (in the paper)", she said. To a question on Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav first saying that he could extend support to the Congress to stop the BJP from coming to power in UP and later withdrawing it, Priyanka remarked only "he should know why he went back (on his statement)".
