Alagiri openly expresses desire to become DMK chief

Chennai, Feb 16: MK Alagiri, DMK secretary for the first time in open, expressed his desire to succeed his father, DMK supremo, Karunanidhi and become the party chief.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai he said that he would accept the post if offered.

The statement comes after Veerapandi Arumugam, a strong critic of Stalin was attacked by the latter after he said that any of Karunanidhi's son's could succeed him.
