Porngate: K'taka BJP MLAs slapped; HC orders police probe

BJP MLA watching porn in K'taka assembly
Bangalore, Feb 13: Karnataka High Court on Monday, Feb 13 ordered police investigation over the shameful porngate controversy. The High Court order might be proved as a major setback for the three tainted BJP MLAs who watched porn movie inside Vidhan Soudha.

The court ordered police inquiry under section 153 (3) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Meanwhile, reports claimed that after receiving showcause notice from Karnataka Assembly speaker KG Bopaiah, the three BJP MLAs - Laxman Savadi, CC Patil, Krishna Palemar are expected to give explanations over their act.

However, Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda defended the ministers citing that the government won't take any action against them before having proper probe.

Here it can be recalled that the three BJP MLAs were forced to resign from their respective posts on Wednesday, Feb 8.

The three tainted former BJP ministers were caught watching porn movie in mobile phone when other members of the assembly were discussing the controversial issue of hoisting Pakistani flag in Sindgi town of Bijapur district allegedly by right wing Sri Rama Sene activists.
