K'taka porngate: Tamil Nadu assembly to ban mobile phones

Chennai, Feb 12: Tamil Nadu assembly soon will ban all mobile phones withing its premise of the House during its procedures. Media reports on Sunday, Feb 12 claimed that new rules will be drafted soon to bar all ministers and MLAs from carrying cell phones.

Citing the news many started speculating that the Tamil Nadu assembly might be trying to avoid Karnataka assembly kind of situation where three BJP ministers have been caught during watching porn movie in mobile phone.

However, other sources reported that the assembly took the decision following the incident when TRB Raaja, the son of union minister and DMK leader TR Balu, was caught while taking videos of the House proceedings.

According to present law, MLAs and other officials are allowed to carry mobile phones inside the assembly hall but are strictly prohibited from using them.
