UP polls flip-flops: BSP leader joins BJP

"BSP has repeatedly failed to keep its promises, so I have decided to join the BJP and will now extend support to the party's candidate from Noida Assembly seat," said Sharma, who is also the former Commissioner of Meerut.
Sharma claimed that he was promised a ticket for the Noida Assembly seat by party chief Mayawati after he was inducted into the ruling party last year but the Chief Minister "failed to keep her promise".
"I worked for the cause of BSP for over six months and extended my voter base. But two months ago Mayawati announced Om Dutt Sharma as the party's candidate from Noida seat. I feel humiliated," said the IAS officer.
