Falak case: Key accused Rajkumar, nine others arrested

New Delhi, Feb 11: In the heartbreaking baby Falak case, the Delhi Police on Friday, Feb 10 arrested the prime accused, Rajkumar, who abandoned the 2-year-old.

Along with Rajkumar, a woman named Pratima was also arrested, who was the part of human trafficking racket. Police arrested Rajkumar while he was trying to flee the capital city. The police also arrested eight others who were found guilty in the case.

During investigation, the police found that Rajkumar abandoned the baby and left her with a 14-year-old teenager, Mahi Gupta, who brought the baby to AIIMS for treatment. Mahi had claimed to be the mother of Falak. When Falak was brought to the hospital, she was suffering from multiple injuries on her head and body. Human bite marks were also found on the child's body.

Mahi alleged that her father used to torture her and she managed to escape from him only to end up in the hands of Rajkumar, who sold her to customers after raping. The frustrated girl vented out her anger on Falak later bringing her to the hospital in an unconscious state.

Meanwhile, Falak was put back on ventilator on Saturday, Feb 11.
