UP: Wide coverage in polls; Congress accused of 'paid news'

A delegation of Janta Dal United on Tuesday, Feb 8 met S Y Qureshi, Chief Election Commissioner and appealed to him to look into the matter.
"We consider it an issue of paid news. This should be stopped. Every political party should get coverage," said JD-U general secretary K C Tyagi.
"For the last few days, only the visits and speeches of Priyanka, Rahul and Vadra are streaming on television. Are there no other political leaders in the campaigning from other parties. We have asked the Election Commission to probe whether it is paid news," said General Secretary Javed Raza.
JD-U also asked the Election Commission to give back zero security to its President, Sharad Yadav which was withdrawn after Yadav spoke regarding the 2G case and against Home Minister, P Chidambaram.
The delegation also cited a recent incident of a group of people trying to forcefully meet their chief in the midnight adding that these kind of commotions could be life threatening in the heat of elections.
